Tips to Reduce Diesel Knock

• Some of the methods to prevent the diesel knock are:

1. By reducing the delay period by doping for example adding 1% of ethyl nitrate or any nitrate so as to accelerate the combustion.
2. By increasing the turbulence of the compressed air injected, promotes the homogenous mixture by strapping the fuel from the spray.
3. By arranging the fuel injector in such a way as to inject only a small quantity of fuel in the beginning.
4. By supercharging that is increasing the inlet pressure of air.
5. By increasing the injector pressure which encourages the automatic ignition of fuel.
6. By increasing the compression ratio to produce a temperature much higher than that required for the spontaneous ignition of fuel.
