Money Power

Money power of the powerful multinational cigarette companies is more than a match for the political will of governments attempting to control its sale through warnings. It should be declared a dangerous habit forming addictive drug, which in effect it is and its sale controlled. More than 500 compounds have been identified in tobacco smoke, most harmful being nicotine, tars, carbon monoxide, ammonia and unburnt carbon particles. The paper of cigarettes contributes its own harmful effect. According to a recent study from Bristol University, each cigarette smoked knocks of eleven minutes from the life of the smoker.
