Youngsters sometimes try out and use language inappropriately, including highly unacceptable profanity, the meaning of which they probably don't know. How to grip such situations? Firmly and without delay! Letting it go until a later time means that the rectification will lose its punch and impact. What is needed is a strong statement-e.g., "That is not the way we talk in our family." That is all that is essential and makes it possible to correct the child without "putting him down" in front of his friends.
