Rutherford- Father of nuclear physics

Ernest Rutherford is one of the greatest chemists this world has ever seen. His works are very much vital for the improvements made in the field of atomic physics. All his contributions to the subject, earned him the name, Father of Nuclear Physics. He was the first person to propose the model with a small charged nucleus in the center. He founded the nucleus, by his very famous gold foil scattering experiment. His model gave new thoughts for other scientists and after his model, came Bohr’s model for an atom. Thus, he was awarded Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1908. His pioneered work helped in the development of atomic physics.
